Software built with
genuine passion

Kultivat is a small software company founded in Varaždin, Croatia by Andreas Grđan — a developer with over a decade of experience building everything from embedded firmware to enterprise microservices.

We combine technical depth with genuine curiosity. Software here is architected — with clear data models, clean service boundaries, and the production discipline that comes from years of maintaining systems that must stay up.

Our flagship product, developers.kultivat.cloud, is a developer platform that bundles identity, localization, notifications, billing, IoT telemetry, QA with a bug-capture browser extension, a service desk, and anchor-price compliance into one API and one console — so every new product starts with the hard parts already done.

Alongside it runs Kultivat.cloud, a community platform for home growers and fermenters — with live ESP32 sensor telemetry, HLS livestreams, a marketplace, and Stripe billing. Everything is built in-house and ships as containers that deploy anywhere.

Tools for looking after computers

Alongside the web work we build desktop software for running servers and helping people remotely. Everything you put into them stays on your own machines — the apps need no account and no third-party cloud. A free account is only needed to download them.

🖥️
In development · Linux first

Kultivat Remote

A desktop app for people who look after servers and other people's computers. SSH terminals, file transfer, tunnels, Docker and Compose, saved commands, remote desktop and remote support — in one window.

  • ✓No account, no cloud: everything is stored on your computer, encrypted with a master password
  • ✓One backup file moves your whole setup to another computer
  • ✓Production servers get a red bar and typed confirmations before anything risky
  • ✓Runs from a USB stick without installing
  • ✓Keeps itself up to date: one click, signature-checked
🤝
In development · Linux first

Kultivat Assist

A small app for the person who needs help. It shows a short ID and a one-time code; the helper connects, and you decide — Allow or Decline — every time.

  • ✓You see a bar at the top of the screen for as long as someone is connected
  • ✓One click ends the session at any moment
  • ✓View-only mode, file transfer and chat with your consent
  • ✓No installation of anything on your router; no ports opened
📡
Runs on your own server

Relay

The small introducer service that lets the two apps find each other through firewalls. You run it on your own server, so no third party sits in the middle of your support sessions.

  • ✓Installed from inside Kultivat Remote with one button
  • ✓Sessions are encrypted end to end — the relay never sees the screen
⚙️
Optional

Server agent

A tiny helper (under 1 MB) you can install on a server to make the overview faster. It listens on no port — it talks only through your SSH connection — and everything works without it.

Downloads

Downloads are on developers.kultivat.cloud/downloads and need a free account: register, confirm your e-mail, sign in, and pick the file for your system. Each file is listed with its SHA-256 checksum. The first public build is for Linux and appears there as soon as it is published; Windows and macOS follow after Linux.

Linux — .deb for Ubuntu / Debian, .AppImage for any distribution, portable USB edition

Windows — Installer and portable edition

macOS — App bundle

After you install it: updates

  1. 1. It checks

A few minutes after you unlock it, then every 6 hours, the app asks only "what is the latest version number?" — nothing about you, your servers or your computer, and no account.

  2. 2. It tells you

A "New version" badge appears at the top of the window, with the release notes.

  3. 3. One click

Paste a download token from your account once (Settings → General → Updates). From then on "Update" downloads, checks the digital signature, installs and restarts. Without a token the button simply opens the download page.

The app never updates without your click and refuses any file whose signature does not match. You can revoke a token on the download page at any time; organisations can turn update checks off entirely.

Want to be told when it is ready, or try it early? Get in touch. New to the app? Read the user guide.

Hi, I'm Andreas

I'm a software developer based in Varaždin, Croatia, with over a decade of experience building production systems across backend services, mobile apps, and embedded hardware.

Currently I work as a Backend Developer at Emil Frey Digital — part of one of Europe's largest automotive groups — where I design and maintain core microservice infrastructure used across the entire group ecosystem. My work covers everything from authentication and SaaS billing to push notifications, invoicing, and digital document signing.

Before that I spent time as an Android developer working for Metaswitch (a Microsoft company), doing a full Java-to-Kotlin rewrite of a decade-old production application — and even earlier, writing firmware for IoT hardware in C.

Outside of my day job, I build Kultivat.cloud — a platform combining a community blog, live IoT sensor data from real garden hardware, a fermentation guide, livestreams, and a small shop. It's my personal lab, production portfolio, and passion project rolled into one.

I'm available for contract and freelance work in full-stack web development (Python + Vue / React), embedded systems (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi), and SaaS architecture. I work remotely and communicate in English and Croatian.
